Kids Costumes – 4 Super-Easy DIY Costumes

Homemade Halloween Costumes

Sometimes, the best part of Halloween fun is making your own costume. This is most definitely the case when it comes to kids costumes and many parents would rather get creative with homemade ideas than spend money on high-priced, low-quality store bought costumes. If you are planning on helping your child make their own ghoulish get-up this year here are some super-fun and super-easy kid’s costumes.

Ninja: Every little boy will love to dress up as one of these mysterious martial arts heroes! And the costume could not be any easier! All you need to dress you little guy as a night-stalking ninja is a black tracksuit, a simple samurai headband and maybe some fake ninja stars made of plastic or silver painted cardboard! Since these kids costumes are all black, you may want to consider adding some reflective tape to the cuffs either of their pants or around the shirt wristbands.

Fairy: This kids costume has always been a favorite with little girls and for parents too due to how simple it is to create. To transform your little angel into a mystical fairy you will need very few pieces of costume clothing and even fewer costume accessories. Let your little lady enjoy one of her favorite most frilly dresses (this costume is the perfect way to reuse an old flower girl dress) add a sparkling set of wings and a fairy’s wand and you are done! Just like that! A Halloween fairy!

Cowboy/girl: Quite possibly the easiest of all kids costumes, dressing as a cowboy or cowgirl is so simple, it’s hardly any work at all. All kids own a pair of blue jeans, and most have a plaid shirt. So all that is left is the cowboy hat, some face paint dirt and a large glittering tinfoil belt buckle!

Punk Rock Star: All kids dream of being rock stars, and what better time to pretend than Halloween? Punk rocker kid’s costumes can be as simple, or as crazy as you want them to be. You can use colored hair spray and have your child sport a true punk hairdo or you can purchase a crazy, uncontrollable wig! As for clothing, ripped jeans and tattered t-shirts work great. But do not forget to add some essential rock star accessories, such as large gold chains, leather wrist cuffs or even a fake temporary tattoo!

Enjoy these homemade Halloween costumes and save money at the same time. Have a safe and happy Halloween!
