When planning your child’s birthday party you should be sure and have a theme appropriate for the age of your child and for the children coming to the party. You want the kids to have a good time so be sure to stay with whatever theme you pick out. Have the cake included in your theme along with all the plates, napkins, silverware, cups, etc.

Use the Internet to do a bit of research or you can ask your family and friends about the different options in birthday party themes. They may even have some things on hand you can use.

Online stores are convenient

There are stores online that offer some great discounts. Just be sure if you shop online that you order in plenty of time to allow for delivery so that you have everything well before the day of the party. Call upon some friends to come help you set everything up before the party, this will alleviate a lot of party stress.

Make sure you also plan out the birthday party refreshments and food. Try to have food that will entertain your older guests along with the younger ones. For the children have lots of goodies and snacks on hand. Make sure you know what you are doing about the cake. Are you going to make it? Do you need to order it? If so, be sure you have it in plenty of time.

Theme invitations are fun for everyone

Another thing to think about in planning a birthday party is the invitations. You can plan the invitations to go along with the theme of the party too. You also want to mail them out 2 weeks before the day of the party. This will give everyone time to RSVP and to be sure they can come. Make sure you clearly state the date, time and location and your phone number on each one.

Also make sure you know how many people will be attending the birthday party. This way you will have enough treat bags, prizes, and food for everyone. I always make sure I have more then the number of people who said they were coming in case some who did not RSVP shows up anyway. You do not want to have anyone left out!

When you follow these birthday party planning tips, you can be sure that your party will go smoothly and all the guests will be talking about what fun they had for many weeks.
