Bridal Shower Games – Unique and Family Friendly

A bridal shower is an important event for any soon to be bride and her family. It is a popular way to celebrate the new couple as well as help the bride relax and take a break from her hectic wedding planning schedule.

Bridal showers usually consist of a wide variety of potluck munchies, wine, or punch, gifts, and games. However, with the guest list including women, and sometimes men, from different age groups it can be hard to find games that are suitable for all who are invited. Here are three very family friendly and hilarious games you can plan for a PG rated bridal shower.

Bride-oodles: Although this game is quite simple and straight forward it is guaranteed to get a few laughs. Start by supplying your guests each with a small piece of paper and a pencil. Instruct them to hold their paper up and place it on top of their head. Now, the object of the game is to make the best attempt to draw the guest of honor, the bride, without lifting the paper from the top of their head.

Your guests will have fun laughing at each other drawing on their heads as well as judging and collecting the finished drawings. Work as a group to decide who won and let the winner choose from a basket of simple prizes.

Do not say Bride: This is a very popular game and can become quite competitive and silly. When your guests arrive give each of them a token, some hosts will use beads, flower Hawaiian leis, bridal themed buttons and even hair clips. Now, the object of the game is to avoid saying a specific word.

The best words to use are ones that you know will be repeated regularly. For example, if you say the groom’s name you will lose your button, or if you mention the word wedding you will lose your lei. Whoever catches the guest who makes a slip of the tongue collects their token. The guest with the most tokens at the end of your bridal shower wins!

Ice cube craziness: This game can be a great deal of fun if as hostess you show some creativity. Because all bridal showers have drinks, using ice cubes as the center of a game just makes sense. A great ice cube game is to write out the names of as many Hollywood heartthrobs as you can think of.

Now, you will need to have the names laminated and folded in half before placing them in your ice cube trays. Freeze your ice as usual and inform your guests that the name of their future husband is in their thawing ice cube!

Try these fun games at your next bridal shower and you will be known as the hostess with the unique game ideas.
